Functional Movement Training
Functional Movement Training is a type of fitness training that focuses on the body as a whole, working several muscle groups at once, all while activating the deep core stabilizers, proprioceptors and neuromuscular system. Functional movement is a form of strength training that prepares your body for everyday activities, emphasizing core strength and stability. Without building a functional foundation, you have an increased risk of injury. These exercises prepare you for real-life, daily living activities such as bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, loading, pushing, pulling, squatting and hauling. This type of training is also very good for athletes in preventing injury or repairing compensating patterns due to previous injuries. Functional movement training addresses muscle imbalances and asymmetries through corrective exercises that build a strong foundation.
