Nutrition

One of the most important aspects of a healthy life is eating right.  Food is our fuel and medicine.  Without the proper nutrition we lack energy, become deficient in vitamins, sleep is effected, blood sugar levels are altered, hormonal imbalances, and the list goes on and on.

Nutrition plays a role in virtually every cell of the body. What we eat and drink is so vital to healthy living. Eating right is essential in whole body balance.  You will feel younger, healthier, and happier when you are nourishing your body with the best nutrition. The following explains what our program entails.

bigstock_a_selection_of_fresh_fruit_and_20319263The last time I did a Google search for Nutrition, it came back with 452,000,000 results. I have a feeling many of those sites cannot be trusted. Nutrition is an extremely important part of life. You may not think about it very much, especially when you are so hungry, all you can think about is getting something in your mouth. The only thought going through your mind is, “What is convenient?” We turn to something that is fast and easy. With a little planning and educating we can change this way of eating.

Nutrition has changed dramatically. We have lost touch with our ancestral heritage and been convinced by modern day mass marketing, food gurus, and people who are disconnected from the practical concerns of everyday life. All they care about is money. These large organizations don’t care about you and your life.

I started to learn about nutrition when I was a little girl. I grew up on a small farm in Northern California. We had chickens, an acre of a fruit and vegetable garden including rows of corn, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, strawberries, squash, and the list goes on. My Dad tended the bee hive for fresh, raw honey. We raised animals for 4-H. Every year we would go a 1/2 mile down the road and pick berries for hours. We worked hard to give our bodies the best nutrition possible. These days, it is hard to eat well. We must educate ourselves and we must lead good examples for our children.

Nourishing every cell and organism in our body is how we sustain a lively, prosperous, and long life. A poor diet can lead to poor health, causing deficiency diseases, moodiness, fatigue, insomnia, decreasing alertness and mental clarity, allergies, stress, depression, slower metabolism, inflammation, and the list goes on. The short-term effects of a good diet are sustained energy throughout your entire day, happiness, mental clarity, and a highly functioning muscular, skeletal, and nervous system. You will stand taller and breath deeper. The long-term effects of an excellent diet are a vital, prosperous, long life. You will feel and look younger. Your chances of getting heart disease or cancer are dramatically reduced.
